PaidUp - Split bills, settle instantly

Hey Everyone! My name is Leo, the creator of PaidUp. Where it started: I've been thinking about this for years. Each week, I do multiple lunches, dinners, or happy hours with clients, colleagues, or friends. Most of the time, we either split the bill or take turns paying. Nobody ever wants to call it out, but there was always that one person who either eats or drinks much more than everyone else, leaves their wallet at home, or forgets how many drinks they had. I saw friendships get strained over $12. That was the reason I created PaidUp. It makes those potentially awkward situations painless and fair. Below are some of the features I built into PaidUp: - AI Auto-Itemization: Uses GPT-4 Vision to extract line items from any receipt, even if handwritten. - Fairness Analytics - For that one person who always tries to sneak away without paying, PaidUp shows who within a friend group isn't paying their fair share and intelligently suggests who should pay next. - Request Money - A simple request form for that college student in a pinch, wanting to avoid another awkward call to their parent, the person selling something on an online marketplace, or an invoice to a customer of your small business. You only need their email address; it will send the request with links to your preferred payment apps. - No Login Needed for Payers - Not everyone in the group will want to join the app. PaidUp will email them their portion of the bill, and they can pay by clicking the smart link in the email, which includes your ID and the amount they owe. - Payment Disputes System - Users can challenge/resolve payment disagreements with an audit trail - Shared Budget Tracking - Users can set spending budgets and track against them in real-time. Great for roommates, friends, and travel buddies. - Business expense tracking and integration - Have a receipt with business expenses and personal expenses? No problem! Scan the receipt, tag the line items as business expenses, and either download it or send it to Expensify with one click. What evolved: I started building PaidUp as just a restaurant bill splitter. As I started talking to more people, the need was there to provide a complete solution from "you owe me money" through settling up. All of the other existing tools focused on splitting a receipt. So we pivoted to become the first intelligent expense platform. Not just for splitting bills, but making all shared expenses financially transparent and fair.
