Would you pay $1 to put your site on a region of New Zealand?
Hey everyone! I'm Merlin, a solo maker from Christchurch. outbid.nz launches here tonight (NZ time), and I would love some early thoughts.
It's a map of New Zealand split into 17 regions. You bid from $1 to put your website on a region. The highest bid holds it. If someone bids more, they take it off you, and there's no refund. It's basically the Million Dollar Homepage, but Kiwi, with a turf war built in, haha.
So far, 3 regions are taken and Canterbury has already changed hands once. 14 regions are still open, so Auckland is up for grabs for a dollar right now.
A few things I'm unsure about:
Is "no refund when you're outbid" fun or too harsh?
Would you bid on a region for your own project, or is the map mostly fun to watch?
Should there be a limit on the highest bid? Right now it's $999,999.
Honest feedback is very welcome. Roast it if you want 😅
