Multiple profiles in one social app: useful or too much work?

Most social apps are built around one primary profile, even though we communicate differently with close friends, professional connections, and people we’re just getting to know.

I’m building Otiumz around a different model: one account with multiple private and public profiles, which we call subaccounts. The idea is to give different parts of your social life their own profile and audience without making you juggle separate apps or logins.

Otiumz also includes private and public Moments, discovery, messaging, voice and video calls, and personalized AI for conversation starters, reply suggestions, and optional auto-replies. But the multiple-profile model is the product decision I most want to pressure-test before launch.

What is the first part of your social life you would create a separate profile for?

Does “multiple profiles (subaccounts)” make the concept clear, or does it sound like extra setup?
