OpenStrate - Neural Machine Perception - It can take your video and reconstruct the environment!

by
OpenStrate turns phone, drone, dashcam, and RTSP camera video into 3D reconstructions, like Matterport-style walkthroughs without proprietary hardware: volumetric drone footage, smartphone 3D scanning, digital twins, inspection meshes, and dense point clouds. GLB/GLTF, Gaussian splatting, browser viewer, and reconstruction API for e-commerce, construction, robotics, insurance, telehealth, SAR, agtech, and more.

My inspiration came from a deep, firsthand frustration with the state of machine autonomy. I saw an industry obsessed with a "sensor arms race", strapping increasingly expensive, fragile, and power-hungry hardware onto machines, rather than making the machines themselves fundamentally smarter. It felt like trying to build the modern internet, but forcing every user to lay their own fiber-optic cables. I realized that the convergence of edge-compute and neural perception had reached an inflection point, and I was inspired to build Spacial Intelligence Labs because I knew someone had to build the foundational software layer to finally decouple machine intelligence from million-dollar hardware budgets. I set out to solve the hardware bottleneck that prevents scalable, ubiquitous autonomy. Currently, for a drone or rover to understand 3D space, it relies on active sensors like LiDAR. Some of these are prohibitively expensive ($15k–$50k+), heavy, and drain batteries rapidly. We initially focused purely on the deep-tech challenge, getting Monocular Depth Estimation and 3D Gaussian Splatting to run natively on constrained edge chips. However, the process quickly evolved when we realized that brilliant math is useless if developers and operators can't easily interact with it. This drove us to build and launch Openstrate.com.. Seeing nearly 100 organic active users adopt the prototype validated that developers desperately needed a frictionless way to deploy this intelligence.

We asked the engineers what would make their job easier, then we got to work.

Opening a folder of 200 site photos and realizing you missed the one angle you actually need is a special kind of hell. Thousands of engineer-hours are wasted in assembling digital jigsaw puzzles.

Spacial Intelligence Labs believes engineering time is too valuable to be wasted on "digital archaeology", digging through contextless photos to find one clear shot of a cable tray.

We built the Neural Perception Engine to turn pixels into spatial data.

By leveraging Neural Vision, we’ve eliminated the need for specialized hardware. In this video, our neural engines took a standard smartphone walkthrough and reconstructed a complex construction environment with spatial context.
