Hi Product Hunt 👋, I'm Nik, founder of Omi. Omi is the best way to ask AI about your own life.

Why this exists

Two years ago I launched Omi as a small pendant that remembers your conversations. The most common request was: "I want omi to know more about my life". So we built omi for your computer. Omi now sees your computer screen, hears your meetings, and answers from what you actually did.

🔥 How it works

  1. Download Omi for Mac:

  2. It captures your screen and your meetings (Zoom, Meet, Slack huddles, in person) in the background

  3. Hold the button in any app and ask it anything

Things people ask it

  • "What did I discuss in the last meeting?"

  • "Give me a feedback on my design"

  • "Help me, I'm stuck in this game"

  • "What was I doing yesterday?"

  • "Help me write a twitter post"

  • "Draft the follow-up from my 2pm."

Every answer shows where it came from. The meeting, the time, the screen. You can go check.

What's in 1.0

  • Answers from your actual screen and audio history, with citations

  • One hotkey, works in any app, voice or text

  • Memories: search everything you've seen and heard by person or date

  • Notifications when something you saw or heard comes up again

  • Local-first and open source. Code is at

  • Free to start

What we optimize for

I promised a lot with the first Omi. This one keeps the promise. It exists because of the open-source community that merged 1,600+ pull requests this year.

Try it and tell me what's broken. I read everything.

Nik

I liked that every answers are shows where the information comes. how does the Omi manage battery design and backgrounds cpu usages on the mac during a full workdays? best of luck with the launch!

Well, now I have to say this was extremely nice to wake up to, as I have an insane day ahead of me. I'm seriously looking for a better way to manage my time and remember everything that's going on that I could reference back later. Thanks for making this, and oh my, here's my favorite part.

Thank you Darrin! We are committed to open source

Loved the UI, it’s so good

 Thank you Apoorv!

What got me is that it remembered what I did yesterday, congrats!

 tell me more?

In which cases you'd ask about yesterday? like feedback on your yesterday's work?

sounds intressting, ui looks clean.

 Thanks Mark!

I have used Omi for a month. it was super cool. I've stopped because if some bugs with logs. Hope you fixed it and now it becomes even better!

Yes we did and that's why we relaunched it!

I'm an Omi user, one of my favorite apps for mac.

Thanks Paul! Glad we could be your favorite :) Out of curiosity, what's your #1 use case of Omi?

Tried it personally for a week and felt like the transcription, memory, and summarization features are legitimately useful for anyone who lives in back-to-back conversations! Also love Omi's wearable design, super fashionable!

Thats awesome Nicole! Our honor to boost your day with Omi :)

I've been at the techie-consumer edge of personal superintelligence for many years. I ordered an Omi pendant the day Limitless sold out to Meta.

Nine months in, I still wear my pendant most days. When I'm not wearing it, in-situ recording works smoothly from my Apple Watch Ultra and iPhone to memorialize important conversations.

The Mac Omi app has seen rapid evolution over the past few months. I've stopped using it several times out of frustration, only to be wooed back by a redesign. This latest one COOKS. Props to Nik and team for listening to feedback, building a solid ecosystem, and (finally) nailing the design of the desktop app! Particular respect for the dedication to open source. Tools this powerful need to be wielded by the people, for the people.

You, my friends, are on the right track.

Thank you Aubrey! Much love from the Omi team :)

Hi Nik - will you be putting out a PC version for us Neanderthals'? 🤔
