Anything that improves upon the experience of the Mail Merge feature in MS Word / Outlook would be a godsend...

That is definitely in our roadmap. We've chosen to start with Google Apps (due to ease of integration and other factors), but we expect to launch an Outlook/MS version in Q2 16.
Wow, looking forward to trying it out for Poln. Just starting to grow our sales team and have been frustrated with the lack of good solutions out there.
