Nix - The Mac uninstaller that finds what the Trash leaves behind

by•
Dragging an app to the Trash leaves its caches, preferences, logs, support files and launch agents behind - often gigabytes of them. Nix finds every leftover, shows you exactly how much space you'll get back, and moves it all to the Trash - nothing is ever permanently deleted, and you can restore anything from History. • Free to scan every app and see every size • Leftover Hunt finds orphans from apps you deleted years ago • Login Items in one place • Never sends a file off your Mac

Hi Product Hunt - I'm Sanniv, I built Nix. It started with a 512 GB MacBook that was always full. I'd delete apps and get almost nothing back. Turned out the apps were gone but their leftovers weren't: Xcode's DerivedData and simulators, Docker's disk image, caches from tools I'd tried once. Over 50 GB of ghosts. The uninstallers I tried were either abandoned or subscriptions that tried to "clean" things I didn't ask them to touch. So I built the one I wanted, with three rules: 1. Free to scan. You see every app, every leftover, every size before you pay a rupee. 2. Trash only. Nix never permanently deletes anything - it moves files to the Trash and keeps a History so you can restore. 3. Your files stay on your Mac. No account, and no file, path or app list is ever uploaded. (Nix does send basic device and usage info - it's all listed in the privacy policy.) Nix Pro is a one-time $29 (2 Macs, 7-day refund) for full file paths and unlimited removal. No subscription - I hate them too. It's notarized, universal (Apple Silicon + Intel), macOS 14+. Launch week: LAUNCH30 takes 30% off. I'd love honest feedback - especially any false positives the matcher flags. That's the part I obsess over. Thank you for looking.
