I kept hitting the same wall: come up with a great name, then discover the .com is parked, a competitor owns the brand, or the handle is gone. Most naming tools stop at ideation. Naamkaran puts creativity and reality checks in the same place — generate names, check domains across TLDs, and score brand uniqueness with grounded search evidence. Three ways to use it: Manual check — type any name and validate it Generate — brainstorm first, check when ready Smart pick — only show names that pass domain + brand checks Would love your feedback — especially if you’ve been through a painful naming/rebrand cycle. What’s the worst “name was taken” story you’ve had? IMPORTANT: Apart from some free usage, this is a BYOK setup as of now. If the product actually gains traction, would love to invest money and provide better experience.

How does the domain check actually work under the hood, is it pulling live WHOIS data in real time or just matching against a cached list?

Thanks for the question. It's live registry lookups, not a static availability list. For each name we hit the registry's RDAP API first (404 = available, 200 = taken), and if that fails we fall back to a direct WHOIS query on port 43. We only cache the full result for the same name for about a week in Firestore (currently disabled), so repeat checks are fast. The availability itself isn't precomputed.

Love how Smart pick filters out taken names before you waste time getting attached, that one toggle pretty much solves the whole "fell in love with the wrong name" problem founders know too well.

Thank you very much! That is the core USP of this product. I have to keep improving it and hopefully launch it with more powerful paid models.

Love how you built domain checks right into the workflow instead of bouncing between tabs. Quick question though, how does the brand uniqueness check actually work and is the Smart pick limit tied to a paid plan?

The one workspace approach is genuinely smart, having brainstorming and domain checks side by side means you stop losing momentum when a name almost works.

How does the domain check actually work under the hood, is it pulling live whois data or relying on a cached registry, and does that mean I might get a green check on a name that just got registered seconds ago?
