Ozzy is your AI personal finance sidekick that watches your spending and nudges you (nicely) when you’re going off-track. Like a Duolingo owl for your wallet — but cooler.
I built Ozzy because I needed something to keep nudging me constantly. Not once a week. Not with charts. Just… in the moment. I remember following this Twitter account that yelled at people to drink water. Like, aggressively. And weirdly, it worked. It was annoying, but effective. I thought.. damn, we need the same thing for spending. Only if there was such a thing..
But not another “you spent $43 on snacks” alert that sounds like it was written by a calculator. I wanted something with a little bite. A little charm. Think: Duolingo gamification style but for our wallet. Something that doesn’t just track your habits.. it calls you out, playfully, in real time.
That’s what Ozzy does. It’s not here to babysit our accounts. It’s here to make us feel our choices. And if it roasts you along the way… well, maybe that’s exactly what we need.
Anyway, this is just a POC right now and its on open test flight. You can ignore the paywall when it pops, it's free. Would love to get your feedback before I take this any further, and let me know how much it should charge.
Note, this is only available for US Market but I am hoping to expand it to EU later in the future.
Last time I introduced Ozzy, I said it was like a Duolingo-style voice for your wallet — playful, real-time, and not afraid to roast you for buying your fifth iced coffee of the week.
Since then, based on your feedback and in an effort to sharpen our USP, we’ve made solid progress. Here’s what’s new in the early beta (still available on open TestFlight):
Apple Wallet Integration
Apple gave us the green light. Ozzy can now tap into your Wallet data and surface smarter insights, right from your iPhone. It’s already live under Settings. Try it and see what it digs up.
Manual Transactions
For anyone using cash, or just not ready to link their accounts — you can now log transactions manually. No paywall, no subscription. Just type and track.
Receipt Uploads with Itemization
You can now snap a receipt and attach it to any transaction. Ozzy will read it, break it down by item, and help you understand where your money actually went — not just what store it went to.
These are small steps, but they matter. The goal is still the same: build something that nudges you in the right moment, with just enough charm to keep you coming back. If you’re already on TestFlight, give these a spin. If you’re not, jump in — the paywall’s not active yet.
Still US & Canada-only for now. EU folks, I haven’t forgotten you. We have a plan..
Ozzy has grown up a lot since this first beta. It is now live on the App Store, and the focus is much clearer: an iPhone spending coach for people who hate budgeting.
The loop I’m most excited about is low friction: add a purchase, scan a receipt, or connect Apple Wallet/bank history when you want deeper context. Ozzy turns that into fresh spending insight without asking you to live inside a spreadsheet.
We also softened the tone. The goal is playful accountability, not shame. Linked-card activity can lag depending on Wallet/account freshness, so nudges are framed as timely coaching when the data catches up.
If you try it, I’d love feedback on one thing: does the first minute make the value obvious before connecting an account?
