A big self-learning for future me, is to first work on good designs of the product before I build it. In this app, the initial design was messy, with lack of hierarchy, only plain components with no life. After working on the design (I'm not a designer myself, so there is still room for improvement), and redoing the whole app UI, the app instantly felt much more useful and easier to understand and use.
