MusicPad for Education - Handwrite music assignments on iPad with Apple Pencil

by
MusicPad for Education turns the iPad into digital staff paper. Students handwrite music naturally with Apple Pencil, sketch ideas, complete theory exercises, and organize pages into structured documents. Built for composition, harmony, and ear-training classes, it brings the immediacy of handwriting to the modern music classroom.

Hi everyone 👋 I’m Juan, the developer of MusicPad. MusicPad for Education was created to bring a simple handwriting workflow for music into classrooms and conservatories. In many theory or composition classes, students still work on printed staff paper because notation software can slow down the thinking process. MusicPad lets students write music naturally with Apple Pencil, just like on paper, while keeping the advantages of digital documents. Teachers and students can organize pages, export assignments as PDFs, and keep all their work synced across devices. The goal is not to replace professional notation tools, but to support the learning process — where sketching ideas, making mistakes, and rewriting things quickly is essential. I’d be curious to hear from teachers and music students here: How do you currently handle theory exercises or composition assignments in a digital environment? Thanks for checking out MusicPad!
