👋 Hey Hunters, I’m excited to dive into Muse 2.0 with you today! Our team of five has been working on this for nearly two years since the 1.0 release. Muse 1.0 on iPad combines the best parts of visual/spatial thinking with classic text-based notetaking. The brand-new 2.0 version introduces: → A native Mac app, designed from the same principles as Muse for iPad, while taking advantage of a bigger screen, the keyboard, and overlapping windows → Text blocks, a way to write spatially. This brings a new dimension to writing and notetaking alongside your handwritten scribbles and rich media. → Local-first sync, which instantly syncs your data between all your devices. Unlike web/cloud-based software it keeps all your data on the device and lets you work offline. As a small independent team, we count on financial support of our members to fund development. You can use Muse for free with up to 100 cards, then get started with a membership for USD $3.99/mo (check the App Store for prices in other currencies). Julia, Mark, Lennart, Wulf, and I have poured our hearts and souls into this product and we believe it’s the best way to do thinking work on a computer. Looking forward to hearing your questions and comments. ❤️

Disclaimer: I worked for Muse to create the sample content on the new website. A few months ago, Linear released an article talking about the magic of software. The magic we lost a while ago when growth took over experience. Muse is the opposite of that, it's real magic. A perfect example of taking advantage of the platform you are building on. Everything is designed well. From the onboarding to the way it handles PDFs. Now with the Mac, it feels so much powerful. Amazing product, better thinking :) All the best to the great Muse Team!

@0db8_ Thanks for what you've done to help us bring the magic back to computers Fede ✨

I've been using Muse 2.0 for a while now, and I can confidently say it's one of the best software products I've seen, ever. The design, the functionality, the robustness. It's all top-notch. It truly feels like a masterpiece created by a team of artists. Muse 1.0 was already a groundbreaking tool, but this update makes it even better. One of the main reasons I switched to Mac three weeks ago was Muse. Seriously. Listening to @hirodusk & @mmcgrana every two weeks makes this experience even better, since I feel like I know what the team think, and I feel more confident using Muse long-term. Keep doing wonderful things, y'all. This truly feels like a revolution happening right before our eyes.

Looks amazing - great way to blend iPad and Mac strengths. Is there any way to link between different point or blocks on a canvas/between different levels/between different canvases?
Adam Wiggins
@andreasfischer1 Currently structure comes mostly from spatial arrangement and nesting. We plan to add freeform linking as part of the 2.x series however so that you can mix visual+spatial with Roam/Notion graph-style linking!

I absolutely love this product! I think it's the first app to fully realize the iPad's potential. Now with 2.0 you get to try this on Mac desktop too. Where do I start? The text blocks which are a huge breakthrough? Nested blocks? SYNC actually works - and uses CRDTs which you will be hearing more and more about, with a focus on "local first". I rarely post on here but this product is worth your time to check it out. also of Note: their podcast is worth it alone - as they go in depth on the principles behind the company vision and the technologies they employ. I'm stealing their playbook on this one. Congrats to a really great team and product. My full thread here: https://twitter.com/rstephens/st...

Amazing tool! I've been following muse for a while now, though I don't have an iPad and so now I'm finally able to use it. Just a small suggestion, it would be great if we could highlight texts in the pdfs in the app
Adam Wiggins
@joaogui1 Absolutely, PDF annotations as well as general-purpose annotations for Mac will be coming down the road.

Wow I like how you designed your presentation here, it really gives me a feeling that Muse can be of good help. I know someone who will like it too. @julia_shandrokha what do you think? And, @makers, congratulations on the launch!
Julia Shandrokha
@vladislav_zhuravlev Hmm yes, I guess Muse could help me with creatives. Thank you! @makers Great job, congrats on the launch!
