Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built MovieTrips because I needed it. I'm a self-confessed movie theater addict — in 2025 I made 103 trips to the cinema, saw 97 unique films, and somehow couldn't tell you half of what I watched or when without digging through credit card receipts. That’s small potatoes compared to some of you out there I know but it’s still a lot. So I started logging everything. Date, theater, format, how I felt about it. This provided me data to play with and display over time to show off my Cinema DNA. Things I liked, things I didn’t, when I went. It was all fun to play with and share socially. - My most-watched genre was Thriller (39 films) — even though I think of myself as a Comedy guy. The data disagreed. - Best experience of the year: Ballerina in 4DX — 4.55/5. That format was made for that movie. - Worst: A Monday Mystery Movie called Sketch — 0.75/5. Some things cannot be unseen. - I go to the movies almost every Monday thanks to Regal's Mystery Movie program. MovieTrips made that pattern visible for the first time. That 24-day gap in September when I didn't go at all?
