MoodFood - When Feelings Need Feeding

by•
Most recipe apps ask what you want to eat. MoodFood asks how you feel first. Pick a mood (tired, stressed, cozy, energetic) and get 3 recipes that fit it. Snap your fridge and it suggests dishes from what you already have. Get 10-minute meals for busy nights, cook hands-free with steps read aloud, plan a full week with an auto shopping list, and get a drink pairing with every recipe. There's also a diabetes-friendly planner with every meal carb-counted.

Hey! Maker here. Honestly this started because I'd open the fridge every night, stare at it for 5 minutes, and then just order food. Cooking wasn't the hard part, deciding what to make when I was already exhausted was. So MoodFood flips it around. Instead of searching for recipes, you just tell it how you're feeling and it gives you 3 things to cook. Tired gets you something easy and warm, stressed gets you comfort food, that kind of thing. The fridge scanner is probably my favourite bit. You take a photo of whatever's in there and it tells you what you can make with it. There's also a hands-free mode that reads the steps out loud, which I built after getting dough all over my phone one too many times. It's free on Android right now. Still early, so some things are definitely rough around the edges. Would love to know what you think, even if it's "this isn't for me." And genuinely curious, what do you eat on nights when you're too tired to cook?
