What makes a money app feel helpful instead of overwhelming?

by•

I’m preparing to launch Money Reset on Product Hunt this Tuesday, and I would genuinely value some feedback from this community.

I created it for people who feel overwhelmed by bills or personal debt and do not necessarily want another complicated dashboard, spreadsheet or bank-connected budgeting app.

The idea is simple: users enter the numbers they choose to share, and the app turns those numbers into one clear next step. It then guides them through debt payoff, spending, savings and progress tracking at a manageable pace.

Money Reset does not connect to bank accounts, and it is positioned as an educational planning tool rather than financial advice. There is a free demo, followed by an optional one-time payment instead of a subscription.

As I prepare for the launch, I’m curious:

  1. What usually makes you abandon a budgeting or money app?

  2. Would you prefer a simple guided journey or a more advanced dashboard with many features?

  3. Does “no bank connection” feel reassuring—or inconvenient?

I would really appreciate honest feedback, including criticism. I want the product to feel useful and human, not like another tool that gives an already-overwhelmed person more work to do.
