MinuteFile reads recording folders you select, transcribes the recordings locally, and keeps the transcripts in a searchable archive. You can edit the text and speaker names, then export TXT, Markdown, or HTML copies. The app has no account, backend, live meeting capture, or cloud transcription service. It uses the network to download transcription and speaker models, check for signed updates, and open Stripe checkout if I choose to buy. Once the needed models are installed, transcription and transcript search stay on the Mac.

The local-first angle is really appealing, especially for work calls I don't want bouncing around the cloud. One thing that would make it click for me is adding quick export options, like dropping a transcript straight into a Markdown file or sending selected snippets to Notes so I can paste them into project docs without copying paragraph by paragraph.

yes, there's a share/export button that lets you export to Markdown/HTML/text or open up the native macOS sharing sheet. Try the the trial out and let me know you think. I've just added some samples bundled into the app so you can see how it works without messing with your own meeting/audio files.

the local only angle is genuinely refreshing, especially with all the bots joining meetings these days. one thing that would make this a no brainer for me is speaker diarization, like actually labeling who said what instead of just a wall of text

Local-first processing is a great angle, and the zero-account setup is genuinely refreshing. One thing that would make this a daily tool for me: let me right-click any audio file in Finder and have MinuteFile add it to the transcription queue without opening the app first. A quick services-level integration would make it feel less like a separate step in my workflow.
