Milo - Photograph a page, keep the sentence you loved
by•
Milo is a reading journal for the lines that stop you, on iPhone and Android. Photograph a page, the text is read on your phone, and the quote is kept with its book and page. Tap a word to learn what it means there, or mail a quote to a stranger.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Muratcan, and Milo is the app I built on my own because my favourite lines kept dying in my camera roll: dozens of photos of book pages I never looked at again.
Milo turns that photo into the sentence itself. The text is recognised on your phone, the quote is kept with the book, the page and the date, and over time you get your own commonplace book. A few things I cared about:
• No account to start, no ads, no third-party trackers. Text recognition happens on the device.
• A word notebook: tap a word you don't know and see what it means in that sentence.
• On iPhone, a Home Screen widget that brings one of your quotes back three times a day.
• Milo Post, the odd one: you can send a quote to a stranger somewhere in the world, and it travels like a letter.
It's on iPhone and Android, in eleven languages, and free to use (3 quotes a day). Pro is $3.99 a month.
I'd love honest feedback, especially on what feels missing or clunky. I'll be here all day.
