I'm super excited to introduce MeterSplit to you all today!
A little backstory: I’m a digital nomad working remotely as a software engineer. I decided to spend a year living in New York City, based in the heart of Greenwich Village. Inspired by Baz Luhrmann’s “Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)”—especially the advice to “live in California once, but leave before it makes you soft… live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard”—I made it my mission to experience both.
While soaking in everything NYC had to offer, one challenge stood out: getting to the airports, especially JFK and LaGuardia. It was either expensive, stressful, or both. As I talked to other travelers, I realized I wasn’t alone in this struggle.
That’s when I thought: Why not make it easy to split rides with fellow travelers headed to the same airport? A simple problem, and I knew I could build a simple solution.
So I created MeterSplit—a platform where you can easily find people heading to NYC airports and share a ride, saving money and reducing your carbon footprint along the way.
