Merra.ai - Automatic video marketing that feels like storytelling

by
Merra is like having a video production team that turns raw clips into ready-to-post voiceover-style videos. No editing needed. No prompting.

Hey chat, Boukar here, Back for a second launch this year! ☄️ I built Merra because I was drowning in raw footage and never had time to edit. I wanted a tool that turned simple b-roll into storytelling videos automatically. So here’s what Merra does. • You upload random clips from your phone. • The AI comes up with various content ideas, writes the script, trims the best shots, clones your voice, adds voiceover, captions, soundtrack, and gives you short-form videos ready to post. It is insanely fast. No editing, no prompting, if you don’t like a part (script, voiceover, editing…), just click regenerate, until you’re happy with the result. It also reuses your clips, shuffles them, every time with a new hook, approach, take, script, story, angle, tone, so you don’t need to consistently shoot new content. Real brands and agencies tested it and saw real growth in days, and it gets better with time (I improve the product but as you use it, it learns from you). I hope Merra helps founders, creators, marketers, and anyone who wants to post consistently without spending nights editing. If you try it today and share your feedback, it means everything to me. Thanks for being here. Stay awesome. Ps: I removed the paywall for 48 hours following the Product Hunt launch 🥳. Ps2: here's a little demo 👇 https://youtu.be/SyAWWBrZb8s

This is really impressive, Boukar. The part that stands out to me is how Merra doesn’t just edit footage, it actually decides the angle, script, hook, and story. That’s what most creators struggle with, not the trimming.

And the fact that it can reuse old clips and still come up with fresh ideas each time is honestly a game changer. Most people burn out because they think they need to be filming nonstop.

Curious though , what ended up being the hardest part to build? The voice cloning, the editing engine, or making the story generation feel natural?

@olajiggy321 Thanks a lot man, it means a lot ! You perfectly understood the pain point. I think making the story generation feel natural was really hard. Because I started training the model in perfect conditions, with a lot of content (company description and raw content), to eventually find out that when people would test in real life condition, they would put 4 words to describe their company and 2 videos. The challenge was to still come up with a good video even with bad input. Obviously, better input leads to better output, but people can reach the a-ha moment with very little effort.

Regarding the editing engine, it was really fun to build. I've edited stuff for a while, as a hobby, but also for my businesses, without ever being a fully professional (although this year taught me a lot about professional, world-class video editing, and I'm putting all that knowledge into Merra). I wanted to create something that could be used by a novice, an experienced and an expert, and I think we're getting close, and improving every day ! !

Appreciate the explanation it’s super clear now.
Since it instantly triggers on app open, that’s something people would really benefit from seeing visually.

I checked out your current landing page it works, but I think a more focused and faster version that highlights that exact intruder-selfie moment could convert even better, especially if you plan to run ads or push organic traffic.

If you think it could help, I can put together a quick sample version for you to see. No pressure just something you can compare with your current page.

I've given it a try and its really good at creating a certain type of video. Definitely worth to try it and see the product grow

@ldsstudio Thank you ! I'm looking forward to seeing what you can create with Merra ! 💪

Interesting tool @boukar_sall . I’m curious how well Merra picks the “best moments” from a messy batch of clips, does it stay consistent even when the footage varies a lot in style or quality?

Boukar Sall

@harkirat_singh3777 Very interesting question Harkirat ! Especially coming from the founder of Zivy (as it's about going from chaos to clarity 👏). So, the way Merra goes from chaos to clarity is through trial and error. It's gonna pick moments, make a video with it, and if the user isn't satisfied, he is gonna click "regenerate", so the AI will learn from the user's style, try something different, and will get better over time. Best the "best moment" for me might not be the "best moment" for you. It's a matter of taste. If I like a fast-paced TikTok video and you like slow-motion cinematic instagram video, Merra has to understand it, without you having to prompt it. Also, in the "cut" tab, the user can review the moments that the AI will use.
