Do we actually want AI to remember everything about us?
AI memory is getting really good.
But I’ve started wondering: should AI actually remember everything about us?
Our conversations. Places we’ve been. People we’ve met. Decisions we made months ago. Random little moments we completely forgot about.
There’s an interesting tension here:
The more AI remembers, the more useful it becomes.
But the more it remembers, the more important control becomes.
What would you want from a personal memory system?
🧠 Remember everything automatically
✋ Only remember what I explicitly save
🔍 Let me see exactly what it remembers about me
🗑️ Give me complete control to edit/delete memories
🔄 Make my memories portable across different AI tools
I’m curious where people land on this — especially as AI becomes more personalized.
Would you trust an AI that remembers everything, or would that feel a little creepy?
