Mellow Kids - Personalized sleep and development app for parents
by•
Most baby apps track what happened. Mellow Kids explains why, and what comes next.
🌙 Understand today: Log sleep, feeds and diapers easily. Mellow spots changes and tells you why. A routine to adjust, or a phase that will pass.
🔮 Prepare for tomorrow: A heads-up before sleep and development change, so you feel ready for each new stage.
🌱 The right guidance at the right time: Evidence based support, from short naps to separation anxiety and first tantrums.

Hi Product Hunt 👋
We are parents and pediatric sleep experts. We built Mellow Kids after seeing the same thing again and again: parents log every nap and feed, and their app gives them back only the next nap time.
But when sleep suddenly changes, parents want to know why and what they can do about it. Sometimes the schedule needs to change, and sometimes it is development. A new skill, a leap, separation awareness starting.
Knowing that changes everything about how you respond.
That is why Mellow connects sleep, development and behaviour, all in one place.
Tracking is free. Insights and expert guidance are part of the subscription. Start for free and try the guidance with a free trial.
We would love your feedback on one thing: when your baby’s sleep changed, what did you wish you had known sooner?
@daiany_mellow_kids, this is such a great launch. I'm a father of 2, and my wife does parent coaching.
Tracking data was never the problem. It's the understanding of why things are happening, and therefore understanding what to expect and how to act.
I love this, and I wish I had that when my daughters were born.
@knolladrian Thank you so much! ❤️ You really nailed it! It's not about collecting more data, but helping parents make sense of it all. Hearing that you wish you'd had Mellow for your daughters means a lot, especially knowing your wife works with parents too. Really appreciate your kind words and support! 🙏
I've worked on Mellow Kids as a developer 👩💻, so I've seen how much care went into the guidance behind it. What I'd point other parents to is the developmental changes coverage 🌱: it explains what's going on at each stage, not just what to do. Congratulations on the launch! 🎉 @daiany_mellow_kids which developmental change do parents ask about most? 😴
@letizia_sorrentino Thank you, Letizia! 💛 That's exactly what we're trying to change!
What's interesting is that parents often don't realize their baby is going through a developmental change until they're already dealing with its effects. They notice the signs, especially disrupted sleep, but don't always know what's behind them.
Two periods stand out from my experience supporting parents: around 4 months, when sleep architecture matures and babies who previously slept well may suddenly start waking frequently, and around 9–10 months, when rapid development and growing separation awareness can bring another wave of sleep challenges.
These are the moments when I see parents reaching out for help the most. And it's exactly why we want Mellow to help parents understand what's happening before they're caught off guard, rather than simply reacting to another difficult night. 💛
Hey Product Hunt!!
Mauricio here, co-founder and dad to two little ones!
Our first son didn't sleep well for over two years. We tried everything, and nothing explained why it kept changing. When Dai showed me what she was building, I was in right away. It's the app we needed back then.
Really proud of this team today 💛 Parents, what's one thing you wish someone had told you about baby sleep sooner?
Where was your app when my children were little? I recommend it to all moms!
@maria_anosova So kind of you! I really appreciate your message ❤️ It made my day!
Excited to see @Mellow Kids launch on Product Hunt today! 🚀🌙
As one of the developers behind Mellow Kids, it's been an incredible experience helping bring this product to life.
One thing I really appreciate about what we're building is the focus on turning everyday tracking data into meaningful, actionable insights. It's not just about recording what happened, but helping parents understand why. Building features that solve real problems is what makes software development so rewarding.
Proud to be part of this team! 💛
Would love to hear your feedback and ideas for what we should build next!
@german_merlo1 Thank you ☺️
Exited for the Mellow Kids launch. I’d been using Huckleberry for months when @daiany_mellow_kids introduced me to Mellow and I have to say, the Mellow nap predictions beat Huckleberry’s each time. What I loved even more though was how beautiful the interface is, how good the explanations are and how easy they are to find. A very elegant tool .. something that’s key for me as a busy parent.
@skywild This is so kind of you, Natalia! ❤️ We're so happy you joined us during beta. Your thoughtful feedback has been incredibly valuable in helping us shape and improve Mellow. Thank you for being part of our journey and for supporting us from the early days! 🥹❤️
Congratulations on the launch! 🚀 I've seen how much work and persistence has gone into building Mellow Kids.
What's been the biggest surprise or lesson you've learned from working with parents and developing the product?
@rob_nero Thank you! One of the biggest surprises was seeing how many parents were already using sleep trackers and personalized schedules, yet still reached out to me as a sleep consultant because they couldn't understand why sleep had suddenly changed or what to do about it. That's when I realized parents don't need more data, they need help making sense of it!
@daiany_mellow_kids Yes! That rings true from my experience too... a tracker is simple and adds only as much value as you can interpret yourself! But if I'm a first-time parent, I don't know how to interpret anything it's showing me! 😄 Thank you for giving parents the WHY, so we understand the WHAT. 🙏
I love the idea of moving beyond tracking to actually helping parents make sense of the data! What’s an example of an insight Mellow Kids can surface that parents might otherwise miss?
@sophia_westrich Great question! One example is when a baby's sleep suddenly becomes disrupted. Parents often assume something is wrong with the schedule and start making adjustments, when the real reason might be a developmental phase.
In those cases, instead of tweaking the sleep schedule, it may be more helpful to support the skills the baby is working on, like giving them plenty of opportunities to practice rolling or standing during the day, while keeping sleep routines consistent.
The tricky part is knowing when sleep really needs an adjustment and when development is behind the changes. That's exactly where Mellow Kids can help parents understand what's happening and respond in a way that actually supports their child's needs. 😊
Telling me which phase this is and that it will pass is worth more than another sleep chart, because the hardest part of month three was not knowing whether anything was wrong.
@karimbenkeroum Thank you! 🙏 That uncertainty can be so exhausting, especially in those early months. Knowing what to expect and when to seek help can make such a difference. That's exactly why we're building Mellow!
