How do you use AI while browsing? Looking for feedback on my workflow solution

by

Hey everyone!

I've been using AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity) daily, but I noticed I kept doing the same annoying dance:

  1. Read something interesting → copy text

  2. Switch to ChatGPT tab → paste → ask question

  3. Get answer → switch back to article

  4. Repeat 10+ times per day

So I built Max — a Firefox extension that brings AI directly into your browser with keyboard shortcuts:

  • Ctrl+Shift+S for instant summaries (structured cards with pros/cons/key points)

  • Ctrl+Shift+F to search or ask questions about any page

  • Ctrl+Shift+T to translate entire pages while keeping the layout

  • Hover over links to see AI previews before clicking

  • Select text and ask questions about it

The part I'm most excited about: you can use your own AI provider. OpenAI, Claude, OpenRouter, or any custom endpoint. Or use our managed cloud mode if you don't want to deal with API keys.

My question for you:

What's your current workflow when you want to use AI while researching or reading online? Do you:

- Keep ChatGPT in a pinned tab?

- Copy/paste everything?

- Use other browser extensions?

- Something else?

I'm trying to understand if this "context switching" problem resonates with others or if it's just me being weird 😅

Also open to feature ideas — what would make this actually useful for your workflow?

Would love any feedback! 🙏
