Wow—what a great tool. I’m going to give this a try in training clients and students on basic SEO and content marketing principles. I see other applications, too. Looking forward to giving this a shot.

@timlmarshall Thank you very much. SEO and content marketing are the last applications I would have expected, but considering it I see how it could be used to visualise how content might be processed by users. Please note that it's not perfect yet (for example, the markers in the scrollbar have issues such as unexpectedly duplicating) - I'm currently working on ironing out rough patches like that for a smooth and predictable experience.

Research online is becoming more difficult as poor quality websites, pandering to popular search engines, pad out results with watered-down articles. Mark My Search addresses this issue by letting the user see at a glance where to find the most valuable content, providing shortcuts and an overview gutter for rapid and versatile use. I have loaded the extension with everything, within a tight scope, that I believe to supplement its flexible approach. It now functions increasingly as a powerful generic search highlighter with intrinsic auto-highlighting capabilities, and much more is underway in this direction. I hope that its fresh approach to search highlighting will prove useful to a wider community! Constructive feedback, ideas, or thoughts would be greatly appreciated :D
