MapSpoto - Find and join local activities on a live map

Hi everyone 👋 I want to share a bit of the background behind Mapspoto. I’m not a traditional developer. I like experimenting and thinking about ideas, and the rise of AI finally made it possible for someone like me to turn those ideas into a real product. I’ve always felt that more and more of our social lives are happening online, while real-world, face-to-face interaction is becoming rarer. At the same time, many people still want to meet others in real life, make friends, and find like-minded people — not just talk behind screens. That’s where the idea came from: what if there was an app that connects the digital world with real-life interaction? Physical distance often decides whether people actually meet, so I chose a map as the core. You can see what activities are happening nearby and, if something interests you, you can simply go and join. I’ve been working on this for about six months. Early on, building was slow and expensive, especially before AI tools became as powerful and affordable as they are today. With a lot of iteration, testing, and help from modern AI tools, I was finally able to move much faster and bring Mapspoto to life. This is still an early version, but I’m happy with how it works so far and I’m sharing it here to learn from real users. If you try it out, I’d really appreciate any feedback — especially on whether this helps make offline connections feel easier in your city.
