Malu - Collect ideas and try new things

by
Malu is a low pressure space to collect ideas and thoughts. No tasks, no deadlines, nothing to keep up with. Just somewhere ideas can exist without immediately turning into obligations. The app features a small journal, gentle reminders and offers engaging widgets. Also Malu is super cute! :)

Hey everyone 👋 I’m the maker of Malu: Idea Journal, a simple idea journal I built to stop losing random things I want to try. Before this, ideas would either disappear or get buried in Notes. I wanted a low pressure place to keep them without turning them into tasks. More “anti to do list” than productivity app. I added gentle reminders and widgets as well as a small journal to log tried ideas. It’s still early and very minimal, so I’d really love feedback. Does the concept make sense? Anything confusing or missing? Thanks for checking it out 🙏💜

Hi Martin!
Congratulations on the launch! I really like the app's cute design. Is the app completely free or are you trying to monetize it?

Hello Lea and thanks for the nice words! :) The app is free and you can buy more color themes to support the active development. :)

Do the gentle reminders adapt to how often you actually open the app, or are they on a fixed schedule? Love the no pressure philosophy for idea capture, looks adorable!

Hey, thanks for the reply! Currently on a fixed (self set) schedule, but we want to update that feature soon! :)

I just tried out the app, and I like how short the onboarding is.

The UX is overall cute, but not so cute that it's childish. I'm typically not a fan of apps that have a mascot, but Malu has a perfect blend of cuteness that's not infantile.

The ability to customize the app is a nice touch. I think you could expand on that by allowing the user to select their own color swatches.

Other than that, the app looks good so far!

Hello Karelle Hofler, thanks a lot for the useful feedback! :)

I'm always looking for apps that spread positivity, and Malu delivered. The intro feels gentle and welcoming, and the overall vibe genuinely makes you want to become a better version of yourself.

One suggestion: it would be great to have content segmented into life areas, so growth feels more holistic and intentional. Think health, relationships, family, artistic sensitivity something inspired by the Wheel of Life concept. That way, the ideas I add would feel purposeful and connected to specific areas I'm working on, rather than floating on their own.

Overall a lovely app with real potential to grow into something even more meaningful.

Hello Carolina Rad, thanks for the nice feedback! :) I am currently thinking about adding segments, so this is a really nice idea!

IT is, on all the coaching and self improvement sessions I have they come up with the wheel of life and it really is an amazing way to get inspired on how to be better. I already registered so let me know when the new segments are ready!! keep going!!
