Hey 👋 I'm Ethan. I built Maestro Deck because honestly, I was fed up. I love Maestro (the YAML mobile E2E framework by mobile.dev), it's the cleanest way to write mobile tests today. But every time I wanted a desktop tool to author my flows in peace, I ended up having to create a cloud account for something I just wanted to use locally. That bugged me. So I built the tool I wanted to have: a desktop client that runs 100% on your machine. No account, no telemetry, no cloud dependency. You open it, point it at your iOS simulator or Android emulator, write your flows. That's it. Where it's at right now: Android support is solid and shipped, and I'm continuing to polish it. Next up on the roadmap: physical iOS device support, and running simulators/emulators directly inside the app for both platforms. Why BUSL-1.1 and not MIT: I want the code to be readable, auditable, forkable for personal or team use. But I don't want some cloud vendor to grab the code and resell it as a SaaS next month. The license automatically converts to Apache 2.0 in 4 years. It's still early, there's clearly stuff to improve. If you try it and have feedback (bugs, missing features, things that annoy you in your workflow), I'll take it all. I reply to every message. And if you think mobile testing tools should stay local and open, a ⭐ on the repo really helps give the project visibility. No affiliation with mobile.dev — huge respect for their work on Maestro itself. Thanks for stopping by 🙏
