When income changes, what should an AI financial companion explain first?
A smaller payslip or a late customer payment can suddenly change someone’s priorities. We’re building Finwings to help people understand what those changes could mean for their money.
Our Cloud Run prototype explores three fictional situations:
Alex’s work shifts have been reduced
Maya’s business is waiting on customer payments
Jess is learning to understand her first payslip
We keep cash-flow calculations separate from Gemini’s explanations. The goal is to make the numbers understandable, with learning activities that help users build confidence.
One question we’re working through: how much should the app explain before suggesting something to explore? What changed, which assumptions matter, or the trade-offs between possible next steps?

What would you need to see before trusting an explanation? A specific example of something unclear would help us improve it.
Please use the demo profiles rather than real financial data. This is a prototype providing general information, not financial advice.
