Long Distance 2.0 - Quiz each other, share a note, doodle and count the days

by•
Most couples talk in one long chat thread, and the good stuff gets buried in it. Long Distance is a space just for the two of you. Snap or draw something and it shows up on your partner's Home Screen. New in 2.0: 24 quizzes you answer on your own phones, then compare side by side. You also get a shared note, countdowns to anniversaries and birthdays, both your cities on a globe, a daily streak and six widgets. It works for every couple, whether you live together or not.

Hey Product Hunt, Vatana here. I'm an indie developer, and Long Distance 2.0 is out today. It's bootstrapped, so there's no funding and no team, just me and a lot of SwiftUI.

Most of what couples send each other is small. A photo of lunch, "out of milk", "running 10 min late". In a chat thread it's buried by the afternoon, so I built somewhere it stays in view: your partner's Home Screen.

The name comes from where the app started. 2.0 is for every couple, whether you share a flat or not.

What's in it:

- Snaps and doodles land on your partner's Home Screen widget. Draw over a photo, add a caption bubble, send.

- A Shared Note you can both edit, for the shopping list or Friday's plan. It updates on both your widgets.

- Quiz is new. There are 24 quizzes across eight topics (Love Languages and Petty Debates are two of them). You each answer on your own phone and neither of you sees anything until you're both done. Then the answers sit side by side.

- Countdowns for your anniversary and both birthdays. Each one is a full-photo card, and it rolls over every year by itself.

- Six widgets, some of them on the Lock Screen. Plus a cat, who turns up more often than strictly necessary.

The free version has every widget, the note, the countdowns and one quiz in every topic. One Premium plan covers both of you.

Shoutout to the tools that let one person ship this: runs every subscription and paywall, handles sync and pushes, shows me what people actually use, and makes the cat move. Point-Free's Swift libraries hold the whole thing together.

I'll be around all day to answer questions. Which quiz topic would you two open first? My money's on Petty Debates.
