How do you explain complex topics to kids without oversimplifying?
I’ve noticed that kids often ask questions that are genuinely hard to answer well in the moment. Things like "Why does the moon follow us?" or "Where does the sun go at night?"
As adults, we usually struggle with one of two things:
We oversimplify and lose accuracy
Or we explain correctly, but in a way that’s too abstract or overwhelming
I’m curious how others here handle this:
Do you improvise?
Google and paraphrase?
Avoid the question and come back later?
If you’ve found a method that works (especially across different ages or languages), I’d love to hear it.
