Hey everyone! 👋 We built LineDiff because comparing documents, contracts, code, or text versions shouldn’t be this painful. Existing tools only highlight visual diffs, but they don’t tell what the change actually means. With semantic diff + AI explanations, LineDiff helps you instantly understand meaningful changes, the kind that matter in legal, finance, compliance, product, or engineering workflows. Would love your feedback, ideas, and support! Happy to answer anything. 🙌

Hey Product Hunt community! Super excited to finally launch LineDiff. 🙏

We built this because, frankly, existing diff tools suck for serious professional work. When you're dealing with a high-stakes contract, a simple Git diff view just doesn't cut it.

We engineered LineDiff for high-risk document environments (Legal, Finance, Academia). We borrowed the Git Diff discipline (with dedicated Split View) but applied two massive upgrades:

  1. 🧠 AI-Powered Insights (Semantic Diff): Stop asking "what lines changed?" and start asking "what is the risk/impact of this change?" Our AI analyzes the document's context and provides an instant summary, domain-specific risk scoring, and identifies critical blocks. This is a huge time-saver.

  2. 🔒 Zero-Knowledge Security: This is critical. We use Client-Side Encryption. Your sensitive contracts are encrypted in your browser. Period. We (or anyone else) cannot read your data, even if it's shared.

We handle messy formats too: PDF, DOCX, XLSX, JSON, YAML—you name it.

I'm the maker, and I'll be here all day. Hit me with your toughest questions on the tech stack, security architecture, or future features. What's the biggest pain point LineDiff can solve for you? 👇
