Are you still holding onto Sublime Text in 2026, or did AI IDEs force you away?

Hey everyone! đź‘‹

Lately, it feels like every modern AI coding workflow requires switching to heavy 4-6 GB RAM IDEs or constantly jumping between disconnected terminal windows.

I’ve always loved Sublime Text for one reason: it’s blisteringly fast, light on resources, and gets completely out of the way. But when autonomous coding agents became essential to my daily workflow, I found myself in a dilemma: sacrifice my favorite editor, or juggle endless copy-pasting.

I decided to see how far Sublime Text could be pushed. I spent the last few months building a native AI coding agent in vanilla Python directly inside Sublime—running the agentic loop on an independent thread with zero background daemons.

We’re launching Limitcode Pro here on Product Hunt this Friday, November 6th.

I’m curious to hear from other developers here:

1. Are you still using lightweight editors like Sublime Text for your daily work?

2. Did the arrival of AI agents force you to migrate to VS Code / Cursor forks, or are you looking for lighter alternatives?

Would love to hear your thoughts and setups! 👇
