Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Niranjan, the maker of learn.cheap.

The idea came from a simple frustration—IT certification prep platforms charge high subscription fees, forcing students to rush through the questions before their billing cycle ends. That's terrible for long-term learning and actual retention.

So I built learn.cheap with a student-first model:

  • Free Practice Tests: Access free practice tests and mock exams for any certification. You can start practicing instantly as a guest, or log in to save your history and track scores.

  • No Recurring Subscriptions: Practice at your own pace without expiry pressure.

The platform covers AWS, Google Cloud, CompTIA, CISSP and more—with detailed per-question explanations to help you understand why an answer is correct or incorrect.

Would love your feedback! What certifications or features should I add next?

@niranjanbuilds This is a genuinely smart positioning—removing the artificial urgency from exam prep is a real problem you're solving. The per-question explanations are what actually moves the needle for retention, so focusing there makes sense. Have you thought about how you'll surface which exams are most in-demand, or are you letting user behavior guide what to build next?

@saulfleischman Thanks! I’ve been in the certification space for around a year, so I already have a decent understanding of which exams and vendors are most in demand. That’s why I’ve marked the leading providers as “Top Vendors” on the site.

Longer term, I’ll likely let user demand influence what gets prioritized next. One idea is to add a “Hot Exams” section based on what students are actively preparing for or requesting. Since the platform just launched and there isn’t enough usage data yet, I’m holding off on that for now, but it’s definitely something I’d like to build once I have enough signals from real users.
