Using real YouTube videos for language immersion — what's missing in current tools?
I built Langegg because I wanted to learn languages from real-world content—specifically YouTube—rather than relying on gamified repetition. While native media is fantastic for immersion, constantly pausing to look up words, save vocabulary, or figure out pronunciation totally breaks the flow.
To fix this, Langegg pulls in YouTube transcripts and pairs them with AI word lookups, text-to-speech, and a community dictionary across 87 languages to make the process seamless.
As a solo dev gearing up for our October 20th launch, I want to make sure I'm solving the right problems. For those who use YouTube or other native media to practice a second language: what is your biggest pain point right now? What features do you wish existed in your current setup to make immersion easier?
