Grant Broome and I built Labrador for two reasons:
1. We couldn't find another manual accessibility tool that actually worked, and...
2. We hate spreadsheets.
Right now, some of the most important accessibility work at some of the biggest enterprise corporations lives in spreadsheets. Navigating a spreadsheet with 100s of issues, screenshots, and code evidence cobbled in is a pain. It's easy to lose track of what you've tested on which pages. Spreadsheets have no good answer for versioning, and they can't integrate two ways with Jira, making them a poor fit for the back and forth between developers and accessibility specialists. A spreadsheet cannot take an issue description, success criterion name, and target element code and generate remediation recommendations.
And that's the end of my rant on spreadsheets. Sorry to all the spreadsheet lovers out there, but they just weren't meant for accessibility auditing. Labrador is.
