We built KrillPay from lived experience. As migrants, we saw firsthand how people operate in two financial worlds that don’t talk to each other. You earn in one country, support family in another, and juggle multiple apps just to send, receive, and manage money. Traditional banks exclude many migrants. Remittance apps only solve one piece of the problem. Domestic wallets stop at the border. We weren’t trying to build “another transfer app.” We wanted to bridge parallel financial systems into one unified ecosystem. The process evolved as we spoke to migrants, students, gig workers, and families in both the U.S. and Nigeria. What started as a cross-border idea quickly became something bigger: a compliant, multi-currency wallet that supports domestic transfers, cross-border payments, transparent FX, and real-world usability in one app. This launch represents that evolution, from a simple remittance concept to infrastructure designed for global families who move money every day.
