Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Harvey, the maker of KMate. This is my first launch here—total newbie alert! 😊 Around ten years ago, I built a small Windows tool called Kindle Mate. Some of you might have heard of it; others might not. Either way, the overwhelming positive feedback from Kindle users worldwide has kept me motivated all these years. That said, the original tool is now quite outdated and missing a lot of features users actually need. Let me cut to the chase: why I built KMate. As a die-hard Kindle power user, I own nearly every model—recently, I’ve been loving my Kindle Paperwhite Colorsoft and 3rd-gen Scribe. But here’s the frustration: Amazon’s switch to USB MTP broke direct clipping imports for the outdated Kindle Mate, as well as tools like Klib/Knotes. Users now have to install USB transfer tools and jump through multiple setup hoops just to get their notes into these apps. It’s a hassle, and I knew we could do better. Beyond that, I’ve gotten countless feature requests over the years: support for more dictionary definition formats for Kindle vocabulary, better export styling for Office/PDF/Markdown/Anki, unified sync for Kindle Cloud and Kindle App notes (with smart deduplication), and—most frequently—native Mac support. So a few months ago, I decided to rebuild from scratch. Today, I’m excited to share KMate, designed specifically for Kindle power users like you. Hope you will find it useful. ✨ Core Features - Seamless Sync with New Kindles: Directly pull notes from modern models (Paperwhite/Colorsoft/Scribe). Auto-recognizes and converts note formats across global languages and timezones—no extra tools needed. - Multi-Source Import + Smart Deduplication: Bring in notes from your Kindle device, Kindle App, and Amazon Cloud. Automatically weeds out duplicates so your library stays clean. - Enhanced Vocabulary Builder: Import words with support for StarDict/Mdict/Mobi/Text dictionaries, including Mdx/HTML styling and pronunciation audio. - Flexible Exports: Export your notes to PDF, Markdown, Office formats, or Anki Decks—tailored to how you study and share. This is the initial macOS release, so I’d love your help testing it out! Please let me know if everything works smoothly, and don’t hesitate to report bugs or suggest new features—I’ll prioritize every piece of feedback. 🙏 Cheers, and happy reading (and note-taking)!
