Kaneo - All you need. Nothing you don't.
by•
Most project management tools get in the way more than they help, not because they lack features, but because they have too many. Every notification, every button, every workflow pulls teams away from what matters: shipping. Kaneo is the opposite. Every feature earns its place. Board, list, and Gantt on the same data. Time tracking, workflow rules, GitHub and Gitea integrations, OIDC SSO, an MCP server for AI agents. Self-host or cloud. Open source, MIT.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 Andrej here. I'm the maker of Kaneo.
I built it because every PM tool I tried got in the way more than it helped. After years of bouncing between bloated platforms that distracted me from actually shipping, I knew there had to be a better way. The principle is simple: less is more. Every feature has to earn its place, and the ones that don't, I cut.
Fun detail: Kaneo's public roadmap 🗺️ runs on Kaneo itself. You can see exactly what's shipped, what's in review, and what's coming.
Who Kaneo is for:
Small teams that want to ship, not configure
People who flip between board, list, and Gantt depending on the work
Devs who want their MCP server and Git integrations to just work
Anyone who needs to own their data self-host with Docker or Helm
Who it's not for: teams that need a deeply customizable, enterprise-grade tracker with 47 fields per ticket. There are great options for that. Kaneo is for the rest of us.

Kaneo is great. I use it as a reading list.
This feels like my notes app to do list just formatted in a way that will actually get me to do it.
Also dig the branding, reminds me of OWYN (only what you need) protein
