Free version of JustDark - Free OLED Dark theme for Safari

I built JustDark because it perfectly aligns with several of my core motivations as a developer. Personal frustration first. As someone who spends countless hours browsing on my iPhone and Mac, I was frustrated with existing dark mode solutions that weren't truly optimized for OLED screens. Most dark themes use gray backgrounds instead of pure black, which defeats the purpose of having an OLED display. I wanted something that would actually turn off those pixels completely and give me real battery savings - research shows OLED dark mode can save 30-60% battery life. Technical challenge and learning. I'd already worked on Safari extension development before, and I wanted to push my skills further with advanced CSS injection techniques. Building a Safari extension that works seamlessly across all websites while preserving functionality and readability is genuinely challenging from a technical perspective. Plus, I wanted to understand the iOS/macOS app ecosystem better since Safari extensions now require a container app. Values alignment. Making it completely open source and privacy-focused reflects my personal values. No tracking, no data collection, no analytics - just pure functionality. This differentiates JustDark from competitors who might compromise privacy for business metrics. Solving a real problem. With iPhones X and newer all having OLED screens, there's a massive user base who could benefit from true OLED optimization. Eye strain during late-night coding sessions was personally affecting me, and I knew other developers and night browsers faced the same issue. T he combination of personal need, technical growth, business opportunity, and value alignment made JustDark a perfect project to pursue. It's the kind of focused, utility-driven app that can generate steady revenue while actually improving people's daily browsing experience
