Hi All. I'm Paul, the founder of Jura Labs and the person who built Jura Trace. Jura Labs has been formed around 2 principles. You should decide what happens to your data and not technology companies. And that technology should support your decisions and not take over. Jura Trace helps answer "is this image real, edited, or AI-generated?". After spending over 25 years in technology across a wide range of areas from conflict, campaigning, health, climate, humanitarian sectors, this question keeps on getting harder. Almost every tool that tries to help asks you to upload your files to someone else's server first. For a journalist protecting a source, a human rights worker handling sensitive footage, or an archivist with material they cannot share, that is a dealbreaker. Jura Trace works the other way around. You drop in a photo and everything happens on your own machine. It runs 13 forensic checks, including AI and deepfake detection from two independent models, reads C2PA Content Credentials, and gives you a trust score with the evidence behind every part of it. Nothing you analyse ever leaves your device. A few things I want to be honest about: - It is a second opinion, not a verdict. It gives you the evidence and leaves the judgment to you. - It is version 1.0. It is genuinely useful today, and it will keep getting better, especially as the detection models see more and more varied data. - It is free and fully open source (AGPL-3.0). The methodology and model cards are built into the app, and the source is on Codeberg. It is a C2PA Validator-Conformant product, listed on the official Conforming Products List, and it runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux. I built this solo, as a UK Community Interest Company, so I would genuinely value your feedback, your questions, I will be here all day to answer everything.
