JotWell - Private expense tracking for Android.

by
JotWell is a local-first Android expense tracker for people who still prefer manual logging. Track income and expenses fast, keep your ledger on device, import/export files, back up your data, set recurring entries, use widgets, and review monthly spending without account setup or bank sync.

Hi Product Hunt, I’m Kishore, the maker of JotWell. I built JotWell after using Monito for years. The behavior I wanted to keep was small: open the app, enter an amount, pick a category, and leave. Bank-linked apps and Account Aggregator flows solve expense tracking for many people. I still like manual tracking because I trust the ledger when I create the entries myself. JotWell is my version of that habit for Android. It has local ledger storage, CSV/XLS import, JSON backup, recurring entries, widgets, monthly stats, local check-ins, and optional SMS suggestions that run on device and require review before saving. I used Codex as a build partner across product decisions, Android implementation, privacy wording, Play Store assets, and launch prep. I still had to make the calls: what to keep manual, what to automate, and where privacy boundaries should be explicit. I’d love feedback from Android users, finance app users, and makers building with AI. Play Store:

love that the ledger stays on device with import/export and proper backups, feels like the kind of respect for users you rarely see in finance apps.
