Hi Hunters and Makers, I am very excited to present you Jamstud.io today ! I have been working in IT for more than 20 years but I am also a musician playing with some friends for more than 10 years. Rehearsing together has always been challenging: finding a place, combining everybody’s agenda, bringing our gears and plugging everything. Usually, it meant blocking a whole evening for only 1 or 2 hours of rehearsal. This also means that we cannot rehearse more than once or twice a month. When the pandemic struk and the lockdown started, I was desperate to find a way to still rehearse and started to look around for online solutions. First we tried Whatsapp and Zoom but there, the latency (the time it takes for the sound to go from one musician to another) was far too high making the experience miserable. So we looked for low-latency alternatives and we found some. But the problem with those software was that they were all far too complex to set up. Our drummer, who is not tech-savvy at all, never succeeded to connect and play with us. So my friend Jérôme and I decided to create a software that combines ultra-low-latency sound distribution with a very easy to use UI that respects modern conference call standards. Jamstud.io was born! Using Jamstud.io is easy as: ✅ Install a lightweight, cross-platform (Mac, Windows, Linux) local software, ✅ Connect on Jamstud.io through your favorite browser, ✅ Start jamming.
