We built IPWho (www.ipwho.org) after repeatedly running into the same frustration

— many IP geolocation APIs were either expensive, slow, or both.

Instead of relying on hyperscale cloud infrastructure, we built our own bare-metal

network to reduce latency and reduce costs, which we pass on to our

customers in the form of lower prices.

Our goal wasn’t to pack in unnecessary features — it was to build something fast,

reliable, and affordable for developers working on production systems.
