Wife's spreadsheet got corrupted at tax time, the idea of BookkeepAI was born.
Tax season this year hit different.
Wife runs a small business. She's organized — or at least she tries to be. Receipts saved in the camera roll so she wouldn't forget. Emails flagged to deal with later. A spreadsheet she'd been maintaining all year.
Then the spreadsheet corrupted. Right before tax time.
I watched her spend a weekend digging through her inbox and photos trying to piece everything back together. It was painful. And completely avoidable.
I went looking for something that could just... handle this. Snap a receipt and it's logged. Forward an email receipt and it's logged. Say "I spent $42 at Staples" and it's logged. No manual entry. No spreadsheets to corrupt.
Everything I found was either overkill for a small business or missing the features that actually mattered. So I built it.
BookkeepAI launched today on Product Hunt — freemium, works on web and Android, built for freelancers and small business owners in Canada and the US.
Honestly, I'm more curious about you — what's your current system for tracking expenses? And what's the most painful part of it? 👇
