Solo founder building an AI platform after a rather unconventional journey

I'm Martín, from Argentina. I'm new here, and I'm really glad I found this community.

A little about me

I grew up in a small rural town where technology wasn't really part of everyday life. There was no internet, no smartphones, and computers weren't common. My childhood was spent outdoors, surrounded by nature and friends.

In 2006, I moved to the city to study medicine. After graduating, I continued training for several more years in pediatrics and pediatric intensive care.

During those years I realized that medicine wasn't the only thing I wanted to learn about. I became interested in mathematics, physics, economics, music, philosophy... and eventually computer science.

I wanted to study it formally, but medicine already occupied my days, so that simply wasn't an option. Instead, I spent years learning at night. I read books, participated in programming and hacking communities, and built personal projects whenever I had the chance.

Over the years, I learned about computer hardware, operating systems, networking, cybersecurity, programming, distributed systems, software architecture, and many other topics that caught my attention.

After a few years, I had the opportunity to work as a software developer. About a year later, I was promoted to Technical Lead, and that's what I've been doing ever since.

Building software is more than writing code

After a while I realized that there was much more to software development than writing code.

I became interested in everything that happens before implementation: understanding a business, refining requirements, modeling complex domains, and making software easier to evolve over time.

That's how I discovered ideas like Domain-Driven Design, Event Storming, User Story Mapping, Behavior-Driven Development, and many others.

Eventually, I started thinking about software development as a sequence of transformations. An idea becomes a model. A model becomes specifications. Specifications become software.

The AI revolution

Around the same time, AI code generation started taking off. Platforms like Lovable, Base44, v0, and Bolt demonstrated something remarkable: software could be generated from a simple prompt.

As I experimented with them, I realized they were changing one important part of software development. They were taking an idea and jumping straight to the code, skipping the transformations in between.

Without an explicit business model, every refinement happens on the code itself. As projects grow, business rules become harder to reason about, regressions become more common, and keeping the software consistent becomes increasingly difficult and expensive.

So I started wondering: What if AI focused on those transformations instead of skipping them?

The idea kept evolving until it eventually became modelARch.

Today I'm building an AI platform that starts by understanding the business through natural conversation. It helps users build a structured model of their domain, refine it, validate it, and use it as the single source of truth from which a complete full-stack application can be generated.
