Solo dev from France, been coding since 2019, finally shipping my first real product

by•

Hey Product Hunt! 👋

I'm Gabriel, a developer based in France. I've been writing code since 2019. Mostly backend work: Go, PostgreSQL, servers, that kind of thing. I work alone, no co-founder, no team.

For most of those years I was the guy who starts side projects and never finishes them. I'd get the backend working, get excited, then hit a wall when it came time to build the frontend. My UI skills were honestly pretty rough, and I'd lose momentum and move on to the next idea.

What changed for me was the AI wave. Not in a "let the AI build it" way, more like having a patient collaborator who's good at the things I'm bad at. It helped me push past the parts I always got stuck on. For the first time I actually finished something, polished it, and shipped it.

I'm building a productivity tool right now (a workspace for docs and notes, sort of in the Notion space but lighter and more privacy-focused). Happy to share more if anyone's curious, but mostly I just wanted to say hi.

I'd love to connect with other solo founders and makers here. What's everyone working on? How do you deal with the parts of building that aren't your strength? 🙂
