Salut ! I'm Thomas from Bordeaux, France

Hello everyone,

It'm Thomas from France, and discovered ProductHunt via Gemini when searching how to promote/launch my new app.
With my wife, Yazming, we live in Bordeaux, France and created a new app that has nothing to do with wine!

We have 2 dogs. One is 15yo and we started struggling with vet records, medication, reminders and a lot of things that dogs parents need to deal with on a daily basis.
Because, or thanks to this, we created PetHubble, an app that is supposed, and will very soon, make being a dog parent much easier!
I'm now looking forward to being part of this community, learn from it, share what I've learned so far if it can be useful to anyone, and plan a product launch.
Merci !

Bienvenue, Thomas. A 15 year old dog with a medication schedule is a very real reason to build something, and the fact that you two are the first users is the best thing the app has going for it. Two things from my own app launch that might save you a day. Reminders are the feature people will judge you on, so send them at a fixed local hour rather than "24 hours before": mine go out three days before and on the day, in the morning, local time. A reminder that arrives at a sane hour is one less reason to switch notifications off. And on the store side, the App Store description can only be edited while a new version is waiting, so write the listing before you submit the first build, because once it's live you'll need another build to change a word. Good luck with the launch, and say hi to the dogs.

Hi George, thank you for the message and the advice. I will definitely take a deeper look are the reminders!

Glad to hear it. When the reminders ship, post a thread about what you saw in the numbers, that is the kind of thing people here reply to. Bonne chance with the launch.

what do you mean with "what you saw in the numbers"?

Sorry, that was vague. I meant the counts a reminder feature produces once it is live: how many people set at least one reminder, how many switch notifications off after the first one, how many open the app from a reminder, and whether the ones who get reminders come back a week later more than the ones who do not. Those four numbers are the story of the feature, and a thread that says "we shipped reminders, here is what happened, 60 percent set one and 10 percent turned them off" gets replies, because every maker here has a notification they are unsure about. "We launched reminders" on its own gets a like.

Welcome to Product Hunt! Finding PH through Gemini is funny, I only joined in September myself after hearing the name for years. Building from your own dog's vet records is the best place to start. All my products came out of my own problems or my clients', and those are the ones that stuck.

thank you! I hope my product will follow the same path as yours then!
I find it satisfying to work on something that solves my problems and could solve problems for a lot of people.
