New here, mildly terrified, and building Tenarie

Hi everyone 👋

I’m new to Product Hunt, so I thought I should stop standing awkwardly near the door and introduce myself.

I’m Francois, based in New Zealand, and I’m building Tenarie.

I’ve spent 24 years in cyber security, which sounds very serious, but mostly means I’ve seen a lot of confusion, spreadsheets, risk registers, security tools, acronyms, and people quietly wondering, “Are we actually getting better?”

That question is a big part of why I started building Tenarie.

I want to make cyber security feel clearer, more practical, and easier for organisations to act on. Less noise, less box-ticking, less “here is another complicated thing to manage”, and more useful guidance on where you stand, what needs attention, and how to improve.

My own building journey has been a long one. I started playing with Laravel and PHP about 10 years ago, then found my way into Python and Django. More recently, AI-assisted coding has given me a confidence boost and made me think bigger about what I can build, even if I still spend plenty of time wondering why something broke five minutes after it worked perfectly.

I’m here to learn, meet other builders, share the Tenarie journey, and get honest feedback from people who are also trying to turn ideas into useful products.
