I’m new here, and this is my first app: BreachWatch

by

After 4 months of slog and head scratching I’ve just built my first app, BreachWatch, and I’d love to introduce it properly. I'm hoping to build more so any guidance feedback or advice would really be appreciated .

It’s a family-focused breach monitoring tool designed to be simple and easy to use. The idea is to help families keep an eye on whether their email addresses or digital identities may have been exposed in data breaches — without needing cybersecurity knowledge or confusing dashboards.

I’m new to building and launching products like this, so I’d really value honest feedback from the Product Hunt community.

What would make a family-focused breach monitoring app useful enough for you to recommend to someone?

Congratulations on shipping, Adrian. You've got something real at the end of your efforts, that's the bit most people never get past.

I'm also a UK indie dev, just building my first product this year, and hoping to launch in the next two to three months. The community here is pretty good at giving honest, constructive feedback if you ask for it directly, which you have, so her goes :)

I think the thing that would make me recommend it to family members is trust and transparency. People handing over email addresses to a security tool need to feel absolutely certain about what's being done with that data. If that story is watertight and front and centre, you're most of the way there. I may even sign up an account myself.

Good luck with it. 🙌

Adrian, I'm confused, when I click on your share on X link, why does it draft the following post, with a link to a different tool?

15 billion passwords are already in data breach databases. Check if yours is one of them — free in 30 seconds 👇 https://breachwatch.app

@adrian_munn There is something not working correctly with your share on X button. It now quotes https://www.breachwatch.io

Hi Adrian, that looks like something cool that allows you to sleep quietly after kids have spent the whole time doing whatever on the internet. I just started to ask myself, what has been your inspiration to create this product. Is there some particular story about it?

Follow me, I am new here as well, about to launch something soon :)))
