I format books for a living — here's why I joined this community 📖

by

I'm a professional book formatter. Print layouts, ebook conversions, typography systems for publishers big and small. It's a niche craft, and most people outside of publishing have no idea it exists as a profession.

I came to Product Hunt because I genuinely believe book formatting is a problem space that tech hasn't solved yet — and I want to be in the room when someone finally cracks it.

Right now the tools are a mess. InDesign is powerful but hostile. Vellum is beautiful but Mac-only and print-limited. Atticus is promising but young. CSS-based ebook styling is held together with prayers and media queries. There's real opportunity here.

I'm not a developer, but I think about systems, constraints, and reader experience constantly. Love talking to people building things in the reading, writing, and publishing space.

If you're working on something in this world, I'd love to connect. And if you've ever picked up a book and thought "something feels off" — I'm the person who knows exactly what it was.
