For about a year I ran a small done-for-you service that I'd honestly describe as the job nobody wants. Accounting firms hired me to chase their clients for documents. Write the list, send the email, send it again Thursday, send it again next week with an apology in front of it because by then it genuinely feels rude.

It's a strange thing to do for a living. You end up with an oddly specific view of how people behave. The main thing I learned: people don't ignore you because they're rude or disorganised. They ignore you because your reminder is the fourth near-identical email in their inbox that morning, and it came from a sender they don't recognise. Change who it comes from and most of the problem disappears.

Today I launched the software version of that job. It's called Pesterly.

It writes the ask, sends it from your own Gmail so it lands as a reply in a conversation your client is already having with you, follows up on day 0, 3, 7 and 10 with a message that gets shorter every time, and stops the second the last file arrives.

I'm solo, this is very new, and there are no customers yet. I'd rather say that up front than dress it up.
